nothing gross about this; anal sex and poop are both perfectly natural! and whatever you've been reading, poop's a part of regular part of anal sex. we need to be careful about keeping it clean, because fecal matter can unfortunately be a bit more dangerous than pee or other fluids affiliated with sex, but that's easy peasy!

first off, simplest things: gloves. like I was talking about just yesterday, body-safe, sex-friendly gloves are dummy easy to get ahold of. making sure to put down a towel or blanket you're comfortable getting dirty is also a good idea, just in case bigger accidents happen. playing in the bathtub or shower are also good options for purposes of easy cleaning.

Spoilers below for god of war ragnarok, also im not finished with the story myself so please dont spoil anything beyond this point-

They dealt with the conflict (over multiple subjects) between Atreus and Kratos in the first game. Kratos not wanting to get involved with other peoples issues even if he can help unless it affects him and his son meanwhile Atreus is more optimistc and wants to help if able. This is also mirrored by how it seems Faye was like when she was alive.

Atreus wants to seek out his possible grander destiny and what it means to be a god while Kratos wants to live a quiet life and not live as a god of war and god slayer anymore. He wants to play things safe because his son is so precious to him while Atreus doesnt want to sit idle in inaction while the norse gods grow closer and closer to their home.

Etc, etc.

Obviously, this is all a very big scale exaggerated circumstances but i think this also mirrors normal parents sturggling with their kids growing up. In the first game Kratos was framed as being right most of the time. Atreus was still very young and naive, he didn't know all the dangers of the world. It's easy to tell a kid to be careful but they don't fully understand your words until they get hurt. And at that age with those stakes he needed more direct guidance under a responsible adult's eye.

But come the second game he's a teenager (or well, a god's equivalent) and much more capable. Atreus still has his naive moments, he's still learning of course. But Kratos has still kept much of his same parenting framework from the first game instead of loosening Atreus' leash so to speak. Yes, Atreus hasn't always told the truth before but he expects Atreus to trust him without ever explaining his reasoning most of the time but doesn't extend the same courtesy back to his son. It's not easy of course, especially when you have more experience than your child but when they are nearing adulthood and you expect things to only be one way it will just drive you child further away because they can already predict what your reaction will be so it's more logical to hide things from the parent.

The second game (so far) seems to frame things more in Atreus' favor this time. He IS onto something with seeking out Tyr and the giant's prophecies. Ironwood is real. Tyr turns out to be alive. And due to plot he can't tell Kratos and yes Kratos has a right to be a bit angry about it but while it's ok for Kratos to do something "to protect them" without explaining why or how when Atreus is trying to prevent Kratos' fate it's not in his eyes.

And to me, that (while exaggerated circumstances) mirrors a now young adult trying to be seen as an adult by their parents for the first time and the parent(s) struggling to accept that and adjust to treating their child as an equal now. And i think it's something a lot of parents need to learn.

No, failing to do so won't bring about ragnarok or anything, but it just may be the thing that either keeps your child in your life or pushes them further and further away
